Features of Ac1dsn0w

Ac1dsn0w is available for OSX users which means that if you use only Windows machine, then this jailbreak is not for you. The first beta version is recently launched and it doesn’t support iPhone 4S or iPad 2. Just like the other jailbreak tools, Acidsn0w uses Limera1n exploit to jailbreak the device. Ac1dsn0w will work with iOS 5 and 5.0.1 on iPhone 3GS,4, iPod Touch 4G, and iPad 1. Ac1dsn0w provides tethered jailbreak and the software based jailbreak tool comes with a tethered boot utility. It has Pwned DFU mode and Exit Recovery mode apart from jailbreak option.

Jailbreaking using Ac1dsn0w

If you have already used jailbreak tools for your iPhone to jailbreak the device and remove software restrictions, you won’t find anything amusing or different in Aci1dsn0w. You can use this software to jailbreak your iPhone in tethered mode. If you have already jailbroken your iPhone, then there is nothing new for you available with Ac1dsn0w. iPhone users who don’t have a jailbreak on the device can go with Ac1dsn0w as it is the newest in the group.

Step 1: Download Ac1dsn0w for Mac machines. ( New AcidSn0w SOON! )
Step 2: Run Ac1dsn0w.
Step 3: Switch of iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad and connect it to your Mac machine.
Step 4: Now, you have to put your phone in DFU mode. You should put DFU mode for every tethered boot and Pwned DFU mode as well. You can check the Show Assistant box to get instructions on putting your device in DFU mode. Click on Start to get the instructions.
Step 5: After putting your device in DFU mode, click on Jailbreak and wait for the program to complete jailbreak.
Step 6: Your iPhone will reboot automatically.
Step 7: Put your iPhone in DFU mode once again and use Boot tethered option to reboot iPhone in jailbroken state.

Now, your iPhone or iDevice will be jailbroken on iOS 5, but the jailbreak is tethered jailbreak. Moreover, this jailbreak will result in baseband upgrade. You can go ahead and install Semi Tether jailbreak from Cydia if you want to enjoy the new feature available.
